Heartfelt Thanks
on November 26, 2008
It’s that time of year when we all say what it is we’re most thankful for. That makes this as good a time as any to do a bit of gushing. I’ve been fortunate enough to have received many blessings and miracles during my life, but the last three years have been exceptional.
It started with a visit from an angel on New Year’s Day, 2006. He had the brightest eyes I’ve ever seen and handed me two, crisp one hundred dollar bills. He told me God wanted me to have them. Outside of the birth of my daughter, it may be one of the most amazing experiences of my life and it’s something I’ll never forget. And I will never forget his face.
Since that day, my life has gotten better and better. In March of ’06 I landed a job with my current company where I make a very nice living and love what I do. In July of ’06, I found this lovely little online community at the Eloisa James (then sans Julia Quinn) Bulletin Board. What I didn’t know at the time is that the women (and man!) on that board would change my life forever. They have become life long friends, supporters, and inspirations. They are truly the family of my heart.
Though I’ve still faced trials as everyone does, a solution always came along right when I needed it. Today, my daughter and I have a nice apartment, a dependable vehicle, and a little money left at the end of the month. I have great friends and a loving family and trust that the Lord is watching over me. I’ve heard somewhere that the trick is not to get what you want, but to want what you have. I’m grateful for everything I have and can honestly say that today, I am very, very happy. And that is worth giving thanks.
To everyone who is sweet enough to visit this little blog of mine, I thank you. For your love, your humor, and your support, I don’t know what I would do without you.
