Heartfelt Thanks

It’s that time of year when we all say what it is we’re most thankful for. That makes this as good a time as any to do a bit of gushing. I’ve been fortunate enough to have received many blessings and miracles during my life, but the last three years have been exceptional.

It started with a visit from an angel on New Year’s Day, 2006. He had the brightest eyes I’ve ever seen and handed me two, crisp one hundred dollar bills. He told me God wanted me to have them. Outside of the birth of my daughter, it may be one of the most amazing experiences of my life and it’s something I’ll never forget. And I will never forget his face.

Since that day, my life has gotten better and better. In March of ’06 I landed a job with my current company where I make a very nice living and love what I do. In July of ’06, I found this lovely little online community at the Eloisa James (then sans Julia Quinn) Bulletin Board. What I didn’t know at the time is that the women (and man!) on that board would change my life forever. They have become life long friends, supporters, and inspirations. They are truly the family of my heart.

Though I’ve still faced trials as everyone does, a solution always came along right when I needed it. Today, my daughter and I have a nice apartment, a dependable vehicle, and a little money left at the end of the month. I have great friends and a loving family and trust that the Lord is watching over me. I’ve heard somewhere that the trick is not to get what you want, but to want what you have. I’m grateful for everything I have and can honestly say that today, I am very, very happy. And that is worth giving thanks.

To everyone who is sweet enough to visit this little blog of mine, I thank you. For your love, your humor, and your support, I don’t know what I would do without you.

I think in this instance you reap what you sow, sweetie!!! You’re only getting back a little of what you put out there. Enjoy it… I’m guessing you’ve got lots more comin’!

I was thinking the same thing the other day – I’m happy! I’m healthier than I’ve been in years. I’m working at a job that I love, which is doing wonders for my self-esteem. My house is a pit and I’m exhausted 24/7 but I feel good! Go figure! LOL

I hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving, Ter!

Terri, every time I think about your angel story, my heart and my eyes just overflow.

As Irish said, the law of the harvest holds true. You give so generously of your time, your resources, your very self that good things have to come your way. Have a blessed day of thanksgiving.

Ely – Hope you had a great holiday! Let the shopping begin! LOL! And yes, lets keep this train moving for both of us! (You’re a bit ahead but I’ll catch up eventually…)

Irish – Funny how we can be bone tired but still feel good. LOL! I’ve worked very hard to keep the home clean since we moved. It’s so easy to let things go but too much clutter gives me anxiety, so we work hard to keep it at a minimum.

Congrats on the new job. I’m glad you’ve found something you enjoy so much. That’s hard to do!

JK – Right back atcha, hon! And can you believe I ate almost NO turkey yesterday? I still can’t believe it.

Janga – I’m happy to share that story, but I was just the beneficiary. The big guy gets the credit. 🙂

Thanks for the sweet words and for being your wonderful self. You bring sunshine whereever you go and I appreciate that you drop a bit of here from time to time. LYG!

    Glad your feeling happy.

I always like to visit OLCOTE (our little corner of the earth *g*)

  8. Where’s my angel *pout*. Guess I’ll just have to settle for you being a cyber-friend. Hope you had plenty of turker and trimmings. Merry Christmas early!

  9. And while turker is good, turkey is even better. It’s still early. 🙂

Q – Sssshhhhhh – I have a rep to protect. LOL! Thanks for making my little corner a brighter place. 🙂

Maggie – You ARE an angel, my dear. And you have adorable little angels with you all the time. Kiss the grandbabies for me!

  11. Renee says:

Hey, Terri, just coming in a bit late as usual.

You truly are blessed, more so because you know you are. Too many take that bit for granted.

    Renee

Renee – No one is ever late around here. Thanks for stopping by and great point about taking things for granted. Maybe that’s the best thing about Thanksgiving, it makes us take a moment to look around and be grateful for all we have.

Hope you had a great holiday!
